and David Whitehead have completed a mural on the exterior walls of The Factory
Community Project, a community centre in Newington Green, London. Part of the
finance came from GLAA, and the project cost a total of about £800. The aims
were: a) to bring some colour in an attempt to break up the monotony, b) to
enhance the Factory building, and c) to make the building more noticeable and
easy to find’ - The final design was decided upon by the Factory Management
Group after local people commented on the proposals, and the decision was based
on which design was most popular, cheapness, and which would most enhance the
building and the surrounding area.
